| Wearing fresh SUGAR ROSE Lip Treatment |
The fresh SUGAR Lip Treatment has a slight citrus scent to it and is clear (hence I did not swatch it above). It is very moisturizing and thick. When I apply this at night before bed I wake up with the product still on my lips. It seems to absorb into my lips and keep them moisturized but almost "locks in" the moisture with the product that is left on my lips. So many times I have tried drugstore brands that I slather on before bed and when I wake up my lips have that very "absorbed" feeling to them, but they are not moisturized. Does anyone out there know what I am talking about? It is almost an uncomfortable feeling to me, which is hard to describe... so now I will attempt at quitting while I'm "ahead" - ha! ;)
The fresh SUGAR ROSE Lip Treatment does have a slight deep pink to it that shows up ever so slightly on my lips. It has the same moisturizing properties, but I wear this one during the day instead of at night. Of course the tint does not last particularly long on my lips during the day through eating and conversation though, so I wouldn't say it has lasting power, however, it must be doing its magic moisturizing somehow because I don't feel the need to reapply after putting it on once. The scent is also citrus. In the photo above,I am wearing this color in my latest makeup tutorial, as my before/daytime look.
Both of these products contain SPF 15, which is great! I also wanted to briefly comment on the fact that they are called a "Lip Treatment", which I kind of feel is just more of a balm to me, rather than an actual treatment, but it could be because my lips were not particularly in need of being treated.
Pros: Overall I think this is a great product that delivers moisture as it says and for me feels like it "locks it in". I like both the tinted and the plain treatment equally, but because I enjoy a party on my lips during the day (in the form of lipstick or gloss) I probably prefer the clear one so I can just apply it at night.
Cons: The cost is pricey, at around $22.50 for a full size which is .15 oz. The samples I received were practically half that size, so I will have to judge how fast I use them up and try to figure out how long a full size would last me. Another con may be if you do not like thick-feeling things on your lips. This does feel a little thicker, and after application you need to either rub it around a bit with your finger or rub your lips together to spread it around.
In Conclusion: Would I purchase? At this point I've been using them for two weeks and I enjoy them, but I also have my eye on trying other lip products which seem similar to this line, like the Jack Black ones that Jessica raves about on Beautezine. There are just too many products to try...and so few lips! ;) I will have to determine if I would purchase after observing how long these last for sure.
Have you tried the fresh SUGAR or fresh SUGAR ROSE lip treatments? If so I'd love to hear your thoughts!
