| Wearing Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm |
I have seen reviews on a few of the new Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains recently and was very curious to see for myself the difference between this product, and its predecessor: Revlon's Just Bitten Lipstain+Balm. I had purchased the first balm stains when they were introduced, was not very impressed with the way the stain felt on my lips and I continually felt I had to reapply the balm just so my lips felt moisturized. So in reading a few reviews on the Kissable Balm Stains I was anticipating this product would be different, and I am happy to say it is!
Application & Pigmentation. I actually purchased Charm by chance, because the display was totally wiped out of all of the shades except four of them, and this shade was the only one I could see myself wearing! I was hesitant to purchase at first because I thought it was going to turn out to be just "another nude", but I was pleasantly surprised! It is a creamy, delicate peach shade with sheen, almost frost, but no glitter. I was very impressed by its pigmentation as well even though it is a light color and found that it can be built up a bit for more color intensity. I was also pleasantly surprised, when two hours after dinner I looked at my lips absentmindedly as I was washing my hands and saw that my lips were stained orange! It was a pleasant orange, mostly matching the shade of my natural lip color, but just with a nice shade of stained orange on them. I had forgotten about the "staining" part of this product and really did not think that it would necessarily live up to the claim, but it does work! It of course isn't like the shade you see above, but it is a stain nonetheless.
Texture & Taste. The product does feel light on the lips, not particularly drying but I noticed that because of its sheen I had to make sure my lips were exfoliated, or it accentuated dry patches (you can see some above). There is also the matter of the scent of this lip product: slightly minty. I didn't taste any mint, but smelled it and it was a little weird I suppose, but it wasn't too strong and I found that dies down shortly after application to where I did not notice it.
Overall, this product reminds me of a combination of a stainlipstickgloss, but I guess Kissable Balm Stain is an excellent descriptor for it, so we'll stick with that for now. :) I am very pleased with this color and I am so happy I came across Charm by chance! :) I will definitely be looking into at least one more of these to add to my collection!
